This valley so close to the city of Almaty is what some consider to be the most beautiful place in Kazakhstan. A river valley fed by the waters coming off glacier, sustains an abundance of plant life including a complete spectrum of colourful wildflowers. Along with that comes bird life and animal life with chances to see deer, groundhogs (marmots) and, on occasion, bears. And while it is within walking distance of Almaty, you will feel the complete peace that natural wilderness can bring.
While it is possible to reach Talger Valley and return in one day, it would be an epic day (very long). Two days allows time to reach the valley and relax a bit, but if you really wish to explore the beauty of the place, then it is recommended to take a minimum of 3 days.
